B/E driving license (trailer)

Do you need a B/E license?

With a regular car license, you can always attach a 750 kg trailer to your car. If the total permissible weight of the trailer is greater than 750 kg, the car and trailer may not have a total permissible weight of more than 3500 kg. So if you’re driving a horse trailer or a large caravan, the regular license is often not enough.

With a category B/E license, you can drive with a total gross weight of up to 7,000 kg.

You can read more at www.sikkertrafik.dk/raad-og-viden/i-bil/anhaenger-og-trailer and FDM has a calculator that can help you find out what you can drive with and what license it requires https://fdm.dk/biler/trailer-campingvogn/beregner-til-trailer-campingvogn

The vehicle you’ll be driving is a Mercedes-Benz GLK 3.0 V6 diesel with an Eduard boogie trailer. The car is nice and tall, has an automatic transmission and is easy to drive, so you can concentrate on learning how to drive the trailer. You won’t lose the right to drive a manual transmission afterwards!
